Protects and provides a safe environment for hospitals, parking facilities, satellite facilities, employees, patients, and visitors. Assists in controlling access to the facility by periodically patrolling buildings, grounds, and work sites. Acts as a first responder to all emergency incidents, as needed.

Conducts internal and external patrols of the hospital, satellite clinics, parking lots, and grounds while reporting security and safety hazards. Responds to coded alarms, performs security escorts, and assists with evacuations requiring strength and stamina. Maintains high visibility to deter undesirable activity and provide assistance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Military experience, or graduation from a Law Enforcement academy.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Knowledge of LVHN Emergency codes and response protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot access control and alarm systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of security equipment.
  • Driver's License (PA) upon hire
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Mitigate threats to the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, and their property within the facility, as well as LVHN property.
  • Intervene when suspicious or abnormal behavior is observed or reported, and stop, question, and detain persons when reasonable suspicion exists.
  • Conduct internal and external patrols of the hospital, satellite clinics, parking lots, and grounds, and report on security and safety hazards.
  • Maintain and operate vehicles and shuttles in a safe manner and ensure proper working condition and cleanliness of all vehicles.
  • Conduct initial inquiries for both administrative and potential criminal complaints and report findings.
  • Respond to all coded alarms and perform security escorts when requested.
  • Assist with evacuations in emergency situations requiring strength, stamina, and flexibility.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility to serve as a deterrent to undesirable activity and to be readily available to provide assistance.
