About this role

The Sherwin-Williams Uniformed Security Officer keeps employees, guests, and buildings safe and secure. Responsibilities include access control, public relations, emergency response, and customer service. Officers enforce security policy and procedures while protecting the building, tenants, and company assets.

Officers ensure high levels of employee and guest satisfaction through excellent customer service. They assist with concerns, offer directions to navigate buildings, and visually monitor entrants for authorization. Sign-in assistance and alarm system monitoring are key daily tasks.

This on-site role is at Global Headquarters in downtown Cleveland, with potential shifts at Brecksville, Headquarters, and Hinckley Industrial Parkway sites. The 24/7 operation requires various shifts like 7 AM-3 PM, 10 AM-6 PM, 3 PM-11 PM, and 11 PM-7 AM, including weekends and holidays.

Officers handle confidential information and items of value, with access that may be supervised or unsupervised. A criminal history review is required to protect business operations, reputation, staff safety, and relationships. Other duties support department procedures and company policy.

Requirements

  • Proven proficient use of computer applications (i.e. Microsoft programs)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
  • 205-Hour Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Certificate or Certified Protection Officer Certificate (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of security experience in a corporate setting (preferred)
  • Previous technology experience in security applications such as card access, CCTV, and alarm monitoring (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high levels of employee and guest satisfaction through excellent customer service
  • Assist employees and guests with concerns, including offering directions to navigate the building(s)
  • Visually monitor and evaluate persons entering the building for authorization
  • Assist guests and employees with sign-in as required
  • Monitor building and tenant alarm systems
  • Respond to various emergencies, alarms, or calls for assistance according to procedure
  • Enforce security policy and procedures
