About this role

The Life Safety and Security Officer is charged with the protection of employees, visitors, contractors, patients, and all properties of PPMW while providing high-level customer service for all. This role combines vigilant security monitoring with a warm, professional front-desk presence to create a safe and welcoming environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities include periodically patrolling health centers and grounds to detect possible threats, unauthorized persons or vehicles, suspicious packages, or damage to property. Officers maintain constant surveillance of building and security cameras, monitor visitor movement, and ensure all access control procedures are strictly adhered to, including issuing badges and verifying identity through the Security Access Control System.

Officers warmly greet all visitors, inform relevant employees of their arrival, assist with proper sign-in on the EIO Board visitor management system, and issue visitor badges. They also respond to incidents during their shift, ensuring appropriate action is taken, all reports are properly completed, and appropriate parties are notified in a timely manner.

Officers participate in all required orientation and training programs and may conduct additional security, customer service, or support functions as directed by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military, and customer service highly desirable
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to provide own reliable transportation to get to/from work and other PPMW sites
  • Moderate knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software desired
  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs, and handle extensive walking, pushing, bending, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Periodically patrol health centers and grounds to detect possible threats, unauthorized persons/vehicles, suspicious packages, or damage to property
  • Warmly greet all visitors, inform relevant employees of their arrival, assist with proper sign-in on the EIO Board visitor management system, and issue visitor badges
  • Ensure all security access control procedures are strictly adhered to, including issuing facility access badges for contractors and associates who forgot their badges
  • Respond to any incidents during shift, ensuring appropriate action is taken, all reports are properly completed, and appropriate parties are notified in a timely manner
  • Maintain constant surveillance of building and security cameras
  • Assist with building emergencies such as evacuations and fire alarms to ensure the safety of all
  • Write detailed and accurate incident reports during shift, including notation of any unusual activities and how issues were resolved
  • Enforce rules and policies of the building and promote good public relations through courteous, helpful, and professional contact with employees and guests
