About this role

G4S Secure Solutions are recruiting Security Control Room (SCR) Operators to work on the prestigious Hinkley Point C contract. HPC features an industry leading SCR fitted with state of the art CCTV and other security and safety systems. Operators protect Client’s premises, assets, personnel and visitors while projecting a commanding and authoritative presence, remaining calm and professional.

SCR Operators monitor CCTV and security/safety systems, manage radio communications with the security team, and handle incident management including deploying onsite emergency services. They conduct delivery vehicle and person checks, comply with DCO obligations, and escalate issues. Duties include operating equipment, maintaining it, and reporting faults with Health & Safety at the forefront.

The team remains flexible to deploy to the Security Control Room or elsewhere on the HPC project as needed operationally. All duties comply with Assignment Instructions and Site Guidance Procedures. Enhanced Security Officers represent G4S and the project as high profile enablers to the site.

Operators fulfil various roles as tasked by Supervisors, including liaising with vehicle drivers using the Delivery Management System. They carry out searches, high visibility patrols, and respond to incidents. Performance must meet or exceed expectations of G4S and the Client.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence in Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) and Door Supervisor or higher
  • Previous Control Room experience desirable

Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV and security/safety systems
  • Manage radio communications with the security team
  • Handle incident management, including deploying onsite emergency services
  • Conduct delivery vehicle and person checks and comply with DCO obligations
  • Carry out search procedures on vehicles and personnel
  • Conduct high visibility patrols (foot & mobile)
  • Respond to security incidents and produce incident reports
  • Liaise with Emergency Services
