About this role

The Venue Security Officer screens Guests entering The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. This role ensures the safety and security of Guests, Team Members, performers, and assets by monitoring crowds during concerts and events. Responsibilities follow all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Patrol and observe seating areas, lobby, and back of house areas throughout The Venue. Screen Guests using hand wand or electronic detection system to prevent contraband entry. Remain alert to disturbances, de-escalate situations, and report suspicious activity or emergencies.

Demonstrate Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” service mission and AAA Four Diamond standards. Display friendly, courteous behavior to Guests and Team Members while providing helpful directions. Practice teamwork to create an energized, positive work atmosphere.

Give full attention to Guest opportunities and take ownership to ensure satisfaction. Support fellow Team Members in enhancing the entertainment experience. Contribute to a secure environment during high-energy events.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent preferred
  • Previous work experience in security or guest services preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form
  • Valid CA driver’s license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License
  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
  • Must have the ability to subdue person(s), run, climb stairs, sit, stand, or walk for duration of shift

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards
  • Patrol and observe all areas of The Venue including seating areas, lobby, and back of house areas
  • Screen Guests during entry via hand wand or electronic detection system to ensure no contraband
  • Remain constantly alert and respond to all disturbances to defuse incidents and de-escalate situations
  • Observe and report all suspicious activity, people, unusual situations, and emergencies, taking immediate action
  • Provide Guests with helpful directions that will enhance their entertainment experience
  • Display friendly, courteous, and polite behavior to internal and external Guests
  • Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and give full attention to Guest opportunities
