About this role
Leidos is seeking a Contractor Special Security Officer to support several customers in Arlington, Virginia. The CSSO will oversee facility, personnel, and SAP security in support of Government security requirements. This role executes procedures to provide physical protection for personnel and government property.
The CSSO administers day-to-day security programs and risk mitigation activities while supporting internal security investigations. Guidance and recommendations are provided to customer leadership on personal and physical security matters including training and regulatory requirements. Expert knowledge of security practices supports overall program strategy and operations.
Work involves continuous assessment of security procedures to identify shortfalls and recommend improvements. Vulnerabilities, threats, and risks are identified for test, training, and operational activities with appropriate mitigation measures developed. Coordination occurs with customer executive leadership on security matters of significant importance.
Training is developed and delivered for the Operations Security program. Security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and pre/post foreign travel briefings are created and conducted as appropriate. Timely notification of pertinent security matters is ensured to customers and Leidos leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant security experience; additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Current industrial security certifications (e.g., FSO, CPSO, or CSSO mid-level training/certifications).
- Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Program (SAP) information.
- Willingness to submit to and successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and interact with a wide range of DoD, IC, civilian, and industry personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Windows operating systems.
- Extensive experience with classified and unclassified networks and facility clearance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the NISPOM, its Supplement, ICDs, and applicable DoD and SAP policies.
- Develop and execute policies and procedures for safeguarding Special Access Program (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and collateral information.
- Conduct physical security assessments and inspections for SCIF and SAPF security requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate with customer executive leadership on security matters of significant importance.
- Provide day-to-day security support including continuous assessment of procedures to identify shortfalls and recommend improvements.
- Identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Develop, implement, and deliver training for the Operations Security (OPSEC) program.
- Create and conduct security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and pre/post foreign travel briefings.
