About this role

The Venue Security Officer screens Guests entering The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. This role ensures the safety and security of Guests, Team Members, performers, and assets by monitoring crowds during concerts and events. All responsibilities follow company standards, policies, and procedures.

Patrol and observe seating areas, lobby, and back of house areas throughout shifts. Screen Guests via hand wand or electronic detection system to prevent contraband entry. Remain constantly alert to disturbances, de-escalating situations as needed.

Demonstrate Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” service mission and AAA Four Diamond standards at all times. Display friendly, courteous behavior to Guests and Team Members. Practice teamwork to create an energized, positive work atmosphere.

Observe and report suspicious activity, unusual situations, and emergencies with immediate action. Provide helpful directions to enhance Guest entertainment. Take full ownership of Guest opportunities for satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent preferred
  • Previous work experience in security or guest services preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in written and verbal form
  • Valid CA driver’s license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License
  • Requires normal corrective vision, ability to see color, and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, subdue person(s), run, climb stairs, and drag an unconscious person

Responsibilities

  • Screen Guests during entry via hand wand or electronic detection system
  • Patrol and observe all areas of The Venue including seating, lobby, and back of house
  • Remain constantly alert and respond to all disturbances to de-escalate situations
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, people, unusual situations, and emergencies
  • Provide Guests with helpful directions to enhance their entertainment experience
  • Practice, support, and promote “ELITE” company-wide service mission
  • Display friendly, courteous, and polite behavior to Guests and Team Members
  • Support fellow Team Members and create a positive work atmosphere
