DigiPen Institute of Technology, a private college in Redmond, Washington, is seeking a Security Guard to play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. This proactive position provides a presence at the Security Desk and throughout the campus ensuring everyone's safety.

Your daily duties include monitoring security cameras and onsite personnel, performing campus patrols to inspect building access points and interior locking doors for proper functioning. You will also contact emergency personnel and make PA announcements when needed.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Institutional Facilities, you join a security team that collaborates to uphold campus safety policies. You will issue and manage campus badges, fill out daily security logs, and participate in safety meetings. The role requires reliability and timeliness in all shift duties.

This full-time, benefits-eligible position offers an hourly wage of $20 to $21.50 per hour depending on relevant experience. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma, current First Aid and AED certification, and a clean background check.

Requirements

  • High School diploma minimum and must speak English fluently.
  • Ability to work amicably with faculty, staff, students, and guests on campus.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
  • Current First Aid and AED certification or willingness to undertake training before starting work.
  • Proper grooming and acceptable dress code.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must provide a current resume detailing all accrued security experience(s) and list contact information for professional and personal references.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor both security cameras and onsite personnel to watch for violations of campus safety/security policies.
  • Interact fairly and politely with all campus personnel encountered on site.
  • Perform campus patrols to check for particular safety/security details and inspect building access points and interior locking doors.
  • Contact City of Redmond emergency personnel (Police, Fire, EMS) immediately for security, fire life safety, and medical issues.
  • Make announcements on the campus PA system for emergencies and campus closure at closing time.
  • Issue and manage campus badges to those in need.
  • Fill out a security-safety log on a daily basis documenting compliance-related issues.
  • Take the campus into lockdown in a timely manner as trained.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $20.00 to $21.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
