About this role

This role supervises all security functions and oversees physical security for Hy-Vee Distribution Centers, Central Fill Pharmacy, and subsidiaries. The Supply Chain Security Manager ensures a safe and secure environment across multiple facilities.

Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising security personnel, providing regular training, and managing CCTV, card access, and security equipment. The manager also coordinates DOT random drug and alcohol testing and works closely with Distribution Center Presidents and Vice Presidents on security policies.

The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Executive Security and has direct supervisory authority over Distribution Center Security Personnel and Supervisors. The manager is responsible for hiring, reviewing work, maintaining standards, and addressing employee issues.

This role offers the opportunity to lead security initiatives across a major retail supply chain network. The manager will continuously evaluate security needs and collaborate with compliance and safety managers on emergency procedures and fire systems.

Requirements

Must have supervisory skills and experience.
Knowledge of physical security.
Investigation, interview, and interrogation skills.
Knowledge of security equipment used at the Distribution Centers.
Report writing skills and ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems.
Over three years of similar or related work experience.
Managerial experience, investigative skills, and logistics/transportation security are beneficial.

Responsibilities

Supervises security personnel at the Distribution Center and provides training for all security officers on a regular basis.
Works closely with D.C. Presidents and Vice Presidents on security implementation and policies and procedures.
Provides training and education on security material for departments at all D.C.’s on a regular basis.
Manages and oversees all security, CCTV, card access, and security equipment for the D.C.’s.
Coordinates and manages DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
Participates in department meetings to conduct and oversee security projects for D.C. locations.
Continues evaluation of the security needs for all D.C.’s.
Responsible for hiring, reviewing work, maintaining standards, assigning work, and acting on employee problems.
