About this role
Abacus Technology is seeking a Senior Security Manager to support personnel, property, facilities, operations, and material security at Wright-Patterson AFB. This full-time role focuses on safeguarding classified and sensitive information across a mission-critical environment. The manager will oversee comprehensive security operations for a major Air Force base.
Responsibilities include recommending, evaluating, and maintaining systems for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials. The manager also implements policies for analyzing employee backgrounds and exercises delegated access control. Additional duties involve opening and closing controlled areas, arming and disarming alarms, and performing end-of-day security checks.
This role operates within a Department of Defense environment at Wright-Patterson AFB, collaborating with government and contractor personnel. The manager will ensure compliance with DoD security regulations and procedures, including classified transmission and incident reporting. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization.
The position offers the opportunity to apply extensive security management experience in a high-stakes, mission-critical setting. Candidates will play a key part in protecting national security interests through rigorous security protocols and oversight. This is a full-time role with a respected government contractor.
Requirements
- 15+ years experience in security management including at least 5 years in a DoD environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirements).
- Thorough knowledge of Federal government, DoD, and Air Force guidelines, policies, procedures, and regulations as they pertain to security.
- Knowledgeable of DoD security procedures including classified transmission, protection of incoming mail, courier requirements, security incident reporting, and security violation sanctions.
- Ability to perform analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative tasks focused on the development and implementation of security policies and methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Recommend, evaluate, and maintain systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials.
- Implement policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees and candidates for access to classified or sensitive information.
- Exercise delegated access control to secure areas.
- Assist in opening and closing controlled areas.
- Arm and disarm facility alarm systems as required.
- Accomplish end-of-duty day security checks.
- Ensure compliance with DoD security procedures including classified transmission, courier requirements, and security incident reporting.
