About this role
As a Security Officer, you'll serve as the front line of protection for guests, staff, and property, ensuring a safe environment with a hospitality-first approach. You'll maintain a high-visibility presence to protect property and personnel while monitoring crowds and assisting guests.
Your daily responsibilities include screening guests upon entry using metal detectors and weapons detection systems, enforcing age and alcohol regulations, and managing crowd flow. You'll patrol and surveil facilities, grounds, and parking areas to prevent theft and damage, and provide escorts for artists and VIPs.
You'll be part of the Public Safety team at a legendary music institution, where safety standards are upheld so guests can focus on the music. The role requires quick response to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or severe weather, collaborating with first responders.
This position offers training opportunities including the State of Florida Class D Unarmed Security License, CPR/AED certification, and crowd management training provided upon hire. With these certifications, you can build a career in security within a renowned hospitality environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Background in law enforcement or security with entertainment/hospitality venue and crowd control experience preferred
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours with some physical stress
- Must obtain State of Florida Class D Unarmed Security License (provided upon hire)
- Must obtain CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire
- Must complete Crowd Management Training (provided upon hire)
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening (4-panel: phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates)
Responsibilities
- Screen guests upon entry using metal detectors, weapons detection systems, and bag searches to prevent weapons or dangerous items from entering the venue.
- Protect property and assets by preventing theft and damage through patrols, surveillance, and monitoring facilities, grounds, and parking areas.
- Provide escorts for artists, VIPs, and other high-profile individuals to ensure safety and privacy.
- Respond promptly to emergencies (medical, fire, severe weather, etc.) according to SOP, administer first aid/CPR/AED, and collaborate with first responders.
- Address potential crowd control issues and de-escalate volatile situations quickly and diplomatically, escorting unruly individuals when necessary.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident and accident reports, both verbally and in writing as required.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to ensure emergency exits and pathways remain clear and unobstructed.
