About this role
We are looking for a Close Protection Officer to ensure the safety and security of designated individuals, often high-profile clients, by implementing and maintaining effective protective measures. Reporting to the Head of Ukraine Operations, you will provide close protection, conduct risk assessments, and implement security protocols. This role demands vigilance in high-risk environments.
Your day-to-day involves providing close protection at all times, conducting thorough risk assessments, and developing personalized security plans. You will implement security protocols including route planning, venue assessments, and contingency plans in conjunction with an Ops planning team. Counter surveillance techniques will help monitor and analyse potential threats.
You will maintain clear communication with clients, security teams, military, NGOs, and INGOs, reacting swiftly to emerging situations. Experience working with Language Assistants is key in this coordinated environment. Flexibility and decisiveness ensure effective stakeholder liaison.
Develop and rehearse emergency response plans, provide first aid, and uphold professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. Willingness to travel into very high-risk combat zones offers opportunities to apply military background in dynamic security challenges. Stay informed on threats like counter STAP and air risks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Close Protection Officer or in a similar role
- Background in military is essential
- Excellent situational awareness and problem-solving skills
- Strong physical fitness and endurance
- Proficient in self-defence techniques and defensive driving
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Successful completion of recognized close protection training courses
