About this role

Security Officers provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments. Personnel perform all job duties with constant awareness of surroundings and note all activity that takes place in the assigned area.

Officers control entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic while patrolling buildings and perimeters. They escort material and personnel, inspect security and fire exposures, and carry out special assignments as required.

Daily work includes reporting to post in full uniform, maintaining a professional image, and greeting customers and employees in a polite manner. Officers monitor cameras continuously, respond to alarms and emergency situations, and complete Daily Activity Reports along with Incident Reports.

Security personnel maintain knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, and CCTV equipment to ensure safe operation of elevators and access doors. They communicate daily with the Security Supervisor about new issues or changes that need to be addressed.

Responsibilities

  • Control entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
  • Patrol buildings and perimeters while remaining diligent for suspicious activity.
  • Escort material and personnel as assigned.
  • Inspect security and fire exposures during routine patrols.
  • Monitor cameras and equipment continuously as outlined in post orders.
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, and Incident Reports.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all emergency policies and respond to incidents.
  • Communicate daily with the Security Supervisor regarding new issues or changes.
