About this role

As a Security Officer you play an important role in protecting Mattel’s employees, guests, products and brands. The position is located at Mattel’s global headquarters in El Segundo. This is an on-site position that includes weekend and holiday work.

The Global Security Team is responsible for the protection of people, assets, and reputation of Mattel. Schedules may vary based on business needs with Sunday through Thursday shifts from 2:30PM to 11:00PM. Flexibility to work multiple shifts supports business needs.

Security Officers complete patrols on foot, in a vehicle and digitally while monitoring access control, CCTV and guard tour systems. They enforce policies to create a safe environment and monitor the fire control panel for alarms and equipment issues.

The ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative and detail oriented with strong communication and prioritization skills. Mattel values an inclusive team where every member feels respected and can do their best work every day.

Requirements

  • One+ years of Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military background preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a valid Security Guard License where required.
  • Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens or willing to obtain certification through training provided by Mattel.

Responsibilities

  • Support Mattel’s Global Security Strategy to protect people, assets, and reputation by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Enforce Mattel Global Security policies and practices to create a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Complete security patrols on foot, in a vehicle and digitally to monitor campuses for physical security, safety and facilities concerns.
  • Monitor the access control system, CCTV system, and guard tour management system while ensuring adherence to access control standards.
  • Monitor the fire control panel for alarms and report service or maintenance issues to Facilities personnel.
  • Perform administrative data entry for incident documentation and communications using the Microsoft suite.
  • Ensure parking lot safety by conducting traffic control, enforcing parking rules and responding to emergency call box activations.
  • Support IP process surrounding confidentiality and controlled destruction of IP per Mattel standards.
