About this role
The Armed Security Officer serves as the armed division of Opry Entertainment Group security, guarding and monitoring facilities to prevent theft, violence, or other loss. Work with the Security Department to control access for each event and monitor guests for suspicious activity and noncompliant behavior as they enter facilities.
Assist guard stations with traffic, sign-ins, or credentialing of staff, artists, and VIP guests needing back-of-house access. Handle guests bringing weapons or prohibited items and work with security on disturbances to maintain orderly events, including ejections and arrests as needed.
Provide artist relations and safety with backstage and onstage security presence, escorting artists discreetly to vehicles, audience, or retail areas without soliciting photos or autographs. Monitor potential issues like altercations, unsafe situations, or policy violations and enforce credential and building policies.
Report all incidents with timely, accurate information and coordinate with Metro agencies and first responders on emergencies, determining severity and prosecution if necessary. Assist with physical security systems like magnetic locks and ID key cards, ensuring compliance, while identifying risks and suggesting improvements using law enforcement experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Background in law enforcement with entertainment/hospitality venue and crowd control experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete security classroom and on-the-job training
- Actively employed in good standing with a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency
- Davidson County law enforcement jurisdiction
- Required to carry a firearm when working a shift
- Pre-employment 4-panel drug screening (phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates)
