Nestled in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living is a leading senior services organization. As a Plant Security Guard, you help ensure the safety and security of residents, visitors, staff, and property across the nine-acre campus.

You monitor and authorize entrance of employees and visitors, patrol grounds and perimeter, and respond to door alarms, elopement alerts, and fire alarms. You also monitor Security Operations Center cameras and dispatch responses to suspicious activities. Maintaining a visible security presence is key to the role.

Requirements

  • Valid California Guard Card (BSIS) or ability to obtain one
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while patrolling campus grounds
  • Basic computer skills for completing activity logs and incident reports
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail for monitoring and access control
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Customer service orientation with ability to maintain a professional appearance

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and authorize entrance of employees, visitors, and others to maintain campus security.
  • Patrol the grounds and perimeter; observe for unusual activity or safety hazards; secure doors and windows.
  • Control and enforce vehicle and pedestrian access throughout campus grounds.
  • Respond to door alarms, elopement alerts, and fire alarms; investigate and take appropriate action.
  • Assist during emergencies and contact police, fire departments, or other emergency responders as needed.
  • Monitor Security Operations Center (SOC) cameras and dispatch responses to alarms, alerts, and suspicious activities.
  • Complete daily activity logs and incident reports documenting irregularities such as damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or other incidents.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide high-level customer service.
