About this role

We are seeking an experienced Security Guard for the cruise vessel Azamara Onward, with immediate embarkation available. This contract position offers a duration of 6 months ± 1 month, working shipboard in the Deck department.

Day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring the security of the ship at sea, in port, and during repairs, following the ship's security plan and all applicable regulations. You will participate in crew and passenger safety drills, comply with safety and pollution prevention procedures, and ensure correct use of all work equipment and protective gear.

You will report to the Staff Captain and Security Officer, working within a multicultural team environment that demands responsibility, reliability, and flexibility. The role requires overtime work, irregular schedules, and physical demands including standing, walking long distances, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50lbs.

Requirements

  • Valid Schengen Visa is mandatory
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written, with strong communication skills
  • Previous cruise ship experience in the rank of Security Guard is required
  • Valid STCW95 certification
  • Appropriate certification as required by regulations
  • Physically and medically fit
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Fidelio
  • Ability to work effectively within a multicultural team environment, demonstrating responsibility, reliability, and flexibility

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the security of the ship at sea, in port, and whilst the ship is under repair
  • Conduct day-to-day security operations in accordance with the ship's security plan, company policies, and international standards
  • Participate in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions
  • Comply with the Company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures
  • Lead by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others
  • Ensure all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals, and safety devices are used correctly
  • Perform duties with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Be alert to take any action required for any security-related situation
