About this role

We are seeking a highly experienced Deputy Security Manager to support the Security Department. In this key leadership role, you will ensure the protection of company assets, people, and operations by overseeing site security programs, emergency response, investigations, and surveillance systems.

Lead and coordinate security operations across the mine site by supporting the Security Manager in daily operations, task allocation, and supervision across Operational, Technical Systems, and Investigation teams. Implement strategies and policies that strengthen mine security and support continuous improvement.

Strengthen emergency preparedness and response by maintaining procedures aligned with the Crisis Management Plan. Oversee 24/7 functionality of surveillance, access control, perimeter protection, and electronic security systems while leading investigations into incidents and policy violations.

Drive reporting, governance, and continuous improvement by monitoring team performance using KPIs, SOPs, and audits. Lead, develop, and mentor a large, diverse security workforce through coaching, training, and performance reviews for supervisors and team members.

Requirements

Diploma or certificate in security, law enforcement, or a related field (two-year program)
Minimum 10 years of mine-site security experience
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience at a senior or management level, preferably in an industrial or mining environment
Training and experience in crowd and riot control
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workforce
Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch is an asset
Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 6 weeks on/ 3 weeks off
Proven experience with surveillance systems, access control systems, perimeter protection, and electronic security equipment

Responsibilities

Support the Security Manager in daily operations, including task allocation, supervision, and ensuring seamless workflow across Operational, Technical Systems, and Investigation teams
Oversee team activities to maintain strong communication, alignment, and cooperation across all units
Maintain and implement emergency response procedures aligned with the mine’s Crisis Management Plan
Oversee 24/7 functionality of surveillance, access control, perimeter protection, and electronic security systems
Lead investigations into incidents, suspicious activities, and policy violations, and escalate findings to management
Monitor team performance using KPIs, SOPs, and audits, ensuring consistent quality and compliance
Forecast staffing needs and coordinate rosters for 24/7 operations and emergency coverage
Provide coaching, training, and performance reviews for supervisors and team members
