As a Director, Executive Protection, you will support the operational execution of Gilead's Executive Protection Program, providing close protection and security support to senior executives globally.

In this role, you will lead planning and implementation of executive protection strategies by utilizing protective intelligence assets and briefings to identify and mitigate threats. You will conduct advances for travel, work, and residential security needs, including threat and vulnerability risk assessments at airports, hotels, and other assigned venues.

You will serve as a trusted advisor during executive travel, high-profile events, and crisis situations, ensuring the protection of employees, facilities, physical assets, and sensitive information. This position reports to the Head of Executive Protection within the CFO organization and is based in Foster City, CA.

You will develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional communication with legal, HR, corporate communications, and corporate security leadership. This role offers the opportunity to work in a complex, highly regulated global environment where your expertise directly impacts the safety of senior leaders.

Requirements

Proven experience in executive protection, including close protection and security support for senior executives.
Strong knowledge of protective intelligence assets and briefing techniques to identify and mitigate threats.
Experience conducting security advances and risk assessments for travel, work, and residential environments.
Ability to serve as a trusted advisor during executive travel, high-profile events, and crisis situations.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (legal, HR, corporate communications) and external law enforcement agencies.
Experience overseeing third-party security service providers to mitigate risks at offices, residences, vehicles, and event venues.
Strong understanding of security operations in a complex, highly regulated global environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct advances for travel, work, and residential security needs, including threat and vulnerability risk assessments at airports, hotels, and other assigned venues.
Provide travel safety and security briefings to executives and flight crews, including those traveling abroad to high-risk locations.
Conduct special services designated by the Sr. Director – Executive Protection, such as Annual Stockholder Meetings, Board Meetings, conferences, and other high-profile events.
Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional communication with legal, HR, corporate communications, and corporate security leadership.
Liaise with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies as needed.
Provide oversight and coordination of third-party service providers to mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities of offices, executive residences, vehicles, transportation routes, and event venues.
Conduct intelligence gathering and analysis to support protective operations and threat mitigation.
