As Security Guarding Lead at the Plymouth site, you’ll play a vital role in protecting one of the United Kingdom’s most important defence sites. Leading a dedicated security team supports national security and critical infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of security operations in a complex environment. You’ll influence best practice, develop high-performing teams, and contribute to continuous improvement. The role builds leadership skills in a dynamic defence, aerospace, and engineering setting.

Day-to-day you’ll lead, develop and manage a team of security professionals and contractors. You’ll manage security resources and equipment to ensure operational effectiveness while supporting on-call requirements to maintain minimum staffing levels.

You’ll develop and improve security procedures, safe working practices and operational guidance. Promoting a strong security culture by role modelling best practice and company values is central to the position at Devonport Dockyard.

Requirements

  • Demonstrating strong experience leading and developing teams, ideally within a security environment
  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Leadership, Management, Security, Customer Service or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Formal security training, ideally including National Protective Security Authority courses
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Frontline Security Industry Authority Security Officer and/or CCTV Operator licence
  • Sole UK National able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Standard (BPSS) security clearance
