Guards also dispense keys, mobile phones, and gas cards to authorized personnel, and answer phones to relay pertinent information to various departments.

This position operates within a security department that serves as the communications center during emergencies, directing evacuations and calling required staff and agencies. Guards work rotating shifts and must be prepared to escort emergency vehicles across the campus, including driving over grass to reach accessible doors.

Opportunities for growth include taking on additional responsibilities such as transporting clients and staff during extreme emergencies when two guards are on duty, and participating in searches for missing clients. Requirements

  • Ability to contact and coordinate with Police, Fire, and Rescue Squad via 911
  • Experience with alarm systems, specifically Siemens Alarm System monitoring
  • Capability to conduct thorough patrols of interior and exterior buildings and parking lots
  • Strong documentation skills for incident reports, log entries, and designated forms
  • Ability to escort emergency vehicles and personnel across campus, including driving over grass if necessary
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts (8-4, 4-12, and 12a-8a) including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver's license for transporting clients and staff in emergency situations

Responsibilities

  • Contact Police, Fire, and Rescue Squad via 911 as needed
  • Monitor Siemens Alarm System and call monitoring company for testing and bypass alerts
  • Conduct periodic patrols of all residential and administrative buildings, parking lots, and grounds on all shifts
  • Escort emergency vehicles to locations on grounds and assist as necessary
  • Complete all required documentation including incident reports and log entries after medical personnel have taken over
  • Dispense and retrieve keys, mobile phones, and gas cards to authorized personnel and document on designated forms
  • Serve as the Communications Center during emergencies, directing evacuations and calling required staff and agencies
  • Transport clients and staff to hospitals, medical offices, and other areas during extreme emergencies when two guards are on duty
