About this role

This role enforces policy and control procedures to provide a safe and pleasurable environment for guests and employees at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel. As a Level 1 Security Officer, you will be the frontline presence ensuring security and service standards are met across the property.

Your day-to-day duties include verifying and guarding all currency transfers, posting at all entrances to enforce policies and Project 21, and resolving customer disputes professionally. You will also verify and escort Game Technicians, issue and inventory badges for visitors and vendors, and patrol parking lots as approved by Risk Management.

You will work closely with surveillance and local Emergency Services, and be responsible for filing reports on safety, OSHA, lost and found, and any other incident of liability. The role operates on a swing shift schedule, providing coverage during peak hours.

This position offers a clear path for growth: after successfully completing a one-week training academy and five days of field training, you will be assigned to a shift and supervisor. Advancement to Level 2 and Level 3A is available through demonstrated proficiency, testing, and performance appraisals.

Requirements

  • Successfully pass a one-week, forty-hour training academy with a score of 90% average on quizzes/tests
  • Complete five days of field training (On-The-Job Training shadowing) and be evaluated by a Field Training Officer
  • Obtain a score of 90 or above on a proficiency test for Level 1 officer responsibilities
  • Pass an Internal Control test with a score of 85 or above
  • No more than five attendance points
  • No more than one minor (36.3) write-up within a year
  • Valid driver's license required with no more than one DUI conviction or three or more moving violations/traffic citation convictions in the past three years

Responsibilities

  • Verify and guard all currency transfers
  • Post at all entrances to enforce policies and enforce Project 21

  • Patrol parking lots (per approval of Risk Management); direct traffic; assist with valet parking

  • Retrieve and verify lost and found items; file reports on safety, OSHA, lost and found, and any other incident of liability
