Certis Security Australia is seeking experienced NV2-cleared Security Officers to safeguard a major Telecommunications Data Centre in North Sydney. This high-profile frontline role demands professionalism, vigilance, and integrity to protect one of the nation's most sensitive assets.

As the first point of contact for visitors and contractors, you will set the tone by delivering a professional and welcoming experience while upholding strict security protocols. Your day-to-day duties include screening visitors and equipment, conducting regular patrols, and monitoring access control systems to maintain data integrity.

You will work within a disciplined team operating under strong governance, communicating effectively via two-way radio and following command-and-control procedures. The role requires rotating 12-hour day and night shifts in a secure environment where safety-first mindset and compliance are paramount.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Australian citizenship due to government clearance requirements
  • Current NV-2 Clearance
  • Security Licence, Classification 1A (Unarmed Guarding) and 1E (Monitoring Centre Operator)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (3 years validity) with current CPR Certificate (1 year validity)
  • Ability to clear an Australian Police Check
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Intermediate PC skills (MS Suite)
  • Experience communicating via two-way radio

Responsibilities

  • Screen visitors and equipment entering and leaving secure areas
  • Issue, monitor, and audit visitor and contractor security passes in line with site protocols
  • Complete regular patrols of assigned areas and report hazards or incidents to the regional control room
  • Respond to, escalate, and document incidents with clear, accurate written reports and daily activity logs
  • Communicate effectively via two-way radio and follow command-and-control procedures
  • Ensure adherence to all site security procedures, policies, and access control requirements
  • Raise, update, and manage access requests using client security systems and software
  • Identify and prevent prohibited items from being introduced to or removed from secure areas
