About this role

Arthrex is actively seeking an experienced Security Officer I - Overnight to join our team at our location in Fort Myers, FL. This role preserves the safety and security of employees, visitors, and property per company policies and applicable laws.

In this overnight position, you will work 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am, Thursday through Saturday with alternating Wednesdays. Your day-to-day involves maintaining vigilance, managing authorized and unauthorized access to facilities, and responding to emergencies such as medical, fire, theft, trespassing, and acts of violence.

You will monitor facilities by physical and electronic means, write reports of daily activities and irregularities, and coordinate the activity of outside emergency personnel while on the premises. The role requires strong problem solving, customer service, and communication skills, with experience in MS Office and Access Control systems strongly preferred.

Within six months of employment, you will need to obtain a Florida Class D, Class G, and a CCW permit, as this position requires carrying a firearm. Join a talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4 or more years of experience in a related security field required.
  • Complete MOAB training during 1st year of employment.
  • South Carolina Licenses: South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Primary Basic, Primary Plus and SLED Firearms training are required within 180 days of employment.
  • Pass physical examinations and psychological evaluation qualification.
  • Working knowledge of law enforcement/military principles or 4 years of similar/transferable experience required.
  • Experience with card access, video surveillance systems, alarm monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vigilance and manage authorized and unauthorized access to Arthrex facilities.
  • Respond to emergencies such as medical, fire, theft, trespassing, and acts of violence.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Monitor facilities by physical and electronic means.
  • Coordinate the activity of outside emergency personnel and equipment while on the premises.
  • Facilitate communication regarding security policies and procedures across the organization to ensure cooperation and consistency.
  • Provide assistance to contractors and visitors while ensuring adherence to all site policies and procedures.
  • Identify and verify contractor and visitor information via system and/or badge access to ensure compliance with policies and security.
