About this role

ASRC Federal, an Alaska Native owned corporation and leading government contractor, is seeking a full-time Armed Security Guard for the Fairbanks Command and Data Acquisition Station (FCDAS). This 24-7 satellite tracking station operated by NOAA supports national and international environmental monitoring spacecraft.

Security personnel maintain ground security across an 8,500-acre self-sustaining campus. Daily duties include patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points, and controlling traffic by directing drivers, contractors, and visitors.

The security crew works in a demanding environment requiring availability for days, nights, weekends, holidays, and shifts up to 10 hours. The role demands strict compliance with federal and state legal requirements while securing premises and personnel.

Requirements

Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard) OR any combination of two years of physical security experience and military service OR an Associate Degree or higher in a security-related or law enforcement related field OR successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy OR three years of experience in physical security as a security officer, armed or unarmed.
Possess a current driver's license.
Current certification in CPR/First aid or ability to acquire within first 6 months of employment.
Available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and up to 10-hour shift lengths.

Responsibilities

Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and inspecting buildings and access points.
Permit access to the site for employees, visitors, and other authorized personnel.
Complete written reports daily of irregularities, observations, and violations of policy and procedures.
Control traffic by directing drivers, contractors, and visitors.
Maintain the organization's reputation by complying with all legal requirements set by the Federal Government and/or State of Alaska.
Complete at least 40 hours of on-the-job training prior to being assigned a shift or job.
