About this role
The Assistant Security Manager is responsible for providing guest safety and protecting the property and assets of Stones Gambling Hall. This role ensures the smooth operation of the Security and Surveillance Departments through supervision, management, and constant evaluation of safety and security needs.
Daily work includes analyzing staffing needs for budget compliance and reviewing policies to meet changing operational requirements. The position maintains proper shift coverage while instructing and monitoring officers in customer relations, report writing, and crisis control procedures.
The role requires acting as a coach and role model to develop team members with consistent expectations around attendance, work ethic, and guest service. Collaboration occurs with department managers, compliance teams, and outside agencies during investigations or court matters.
Performance management includes tracking attendance, assessing training needs, and supporting succession planning for officers. The Assistant Security Manager participates in hiring, promotions, and disciplinary processes in coordination with Human Resources and the Security Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Skill in scheduling, planning, assigning, directing work, and training employees
- Experience appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints
- Capability to maintain team member performance standards and address issues effectively and timely
- Ability to track attendance and tardiness while making immediate decisions when necessary
- Skill in assessing employee training needs and supporting succession planning for officers
Responsibilities

- Review policies and procedures and develop new ones to achieve department goals
- Ensure proper coverage on all shifts is maintained
- Instruct, train and monitor officers in duties including customer relations, report writing, and crisis control
- Act as a role model and coach while developing team members with clear performance expectations
- Prepare and present operational reports to Senior Management and participate in managerial meetings
- Work with outside agencies when necessary such as testifying in court or participating in investigations
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including scheduling, appraising performance, and resolving problems
